Troup Bywaters + Anders call on Prime Minister to create socially just and green recovery from COVID-19

9th June 2020

TB+A have signed and supported a letter sent to the Prime Minister today, alongside more than 150 others comprising individuals from public life, the leaders of businesses, charities and universities from across the UK, calling on his government to use the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to frame Covid-19 recovery plans.

The letter references a statement made by the Prime Minister at the Financing for Development event on 28 May where he called for "fairer, greener and more resilient global economy" after Covid-19. He said that we must ‘work together to get shared goals back on track including [...] the Sustainable Development Goals’.

The SDGs are part of the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development with 17 Goals at its centre, encompassing climate action, education and health.

As a signatory to the letter, Peter Anderson Managing Partner at TB+A comments “We have made strong commitments in our sustainability action plan to align our operations to the UN SDG’s and are on the path to becoming a net zero organisation by 2030. As building services engineers we have a responsibility to create design outcomes that have a more positive impact on the world around us and we are very pleased to join the call to government to put the SDG’s at the centre of the UK's post-Covid19 recovery plans”.
