Healthcare has been a consistent and substantial portion of our services offer since the practice was formed in 1958 both in the NHS and private sectors. We have had the opportunity to successfully deliver some of the most complex, challenging and largest capital value projects in the industry both in the UK and internationally. Our experience covers all acute services, specialist hospitals, mental health facilities and primary care.
Projects range from major new builds, estates rationalisations, departmental refurbishments, energy assessments, infrastructure and system upgrades to backlog maintenance.
All delivered using a variety of procurement routes including:
- National NHS frameworks such as P21/P21+/P22 and Shared Business Services
- Direct Frameworks
- Direct appointments to Private providers
- Public – Private partnership
We deliver designs from inception to successful completion either working direct for the end client or as part of a contractor led team. We also have in depth experience of preparing Employers Requirements, Technical Advisory roles, NEC supervisor, commissioning management and FM / asset management.
All our healthcare team are members of the Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estates Management (IHEEM) and as a business are corporate members recently winning the Consultant of the Year award. We are also Corporate Members of Design in Mental Health Network (DIMHN) and take an ambassadorial role for engineering services.
Our teams understand all the unique and expansive standards that apply to healthcare and have assisted in authoring updates across acute, mental health, primary care and third sectors. We take a proactive approach in applying these to environments which have constantly evolved over the years. By setting detailed compliance schedules we help manage risk, expectations and drive future planning.
At every level we question what we has previously been the standard, seeking to always raise the bar and drive down both energy and carbon using proven modelling techniques.
This is supported by the working groups and initiatives we are involved with such as:
- Standard Platform
- LETI healthcare
- NHS Zero Carbon Standard
- Future Health Spaces
Our whole life offering is perfectly aligned with and can support the NHS agenda of MMC, digitalisation and net zero carbon. We do this by embracing a horizontal supply chain approach.
